Frequently Asked Question
How & Why to add the Grade Me block
Blocks are items in Moodle which can be added to the left of our Moodle site layout (version Moodle 3.7, Altitude theme currently). The "Grade Me" block lets you identify which activities (with a point value) have student submissions needing in-activity grades.
To use in your BeaconLearning course...
- Turn editing on
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the "Add a Block" block on the left side of the screen
- From the drop down menu, select "Grade Me" to add it to your course
- If you have assignments that need grading, click the arrow to expand the assignment and see student names - these are students who have submitted work or posted forums that do not have any in-activity* grades yet
A note about "In Activity" Grades:
If you manually override a grade in the gradebook, the Grade Me block will tell you that there are grades missing. The in-activity grades are what the Grade Me block uses. For example, Forum posts must use the drop down "ratings" for grades, not manual entries in the gradebook.
