Last Updated a year ago

Beacon Learning

The default maximum file size BeaconLearning is 100MB, although faculty can extend it up to 2GB.

If you have a file greater than 100MB, you can still share it via BeaconLearning through OneDrive. This article will go through step-by-step how to complete that process.

Upload to OneDrive

  1. On the OneDrive website, sign in with your Bushnell Microsoft account, and then browse to the location where you want to add the files.
  2. Select Upload.
Upload files or pictures in OneDrive
  3. Select the files you want to upload, and then select Open.

  1. Find the file you just uploaded and select it.
  2. Select ShareShare icon at the top of the page.
  3. Under Send Link, select Anyone with the link can edit to open the link settings.

  5. To change the link permissions, select an option to who you want to give access to the link:
    1. Anyone gives access to anyone who receives this link, whether they receive it directly from you or forwarded from someone else.
    2. People in Bushnell University with the link anyone in your organization who has the link access to the file, whether they receive it directly from you or forwarded from someone else.
    3. People with existing access can be used by people who already have access to the document or folder.
    4. Specific people provide access only to the people you specify, although other people may already have access.
  6. Copy the link and share in Beacon Learning

Managing Permissions

The default for permission settings is limited to just people that have a "Bushnell.edu" account. However, there are a few customization options for SharePoint that can be changed by the file owner available in the menu below.

Select an option for who you want to give access with the link:

Allow editing By checking this box, people with Edit permissions can copy, move, edit, rename, share, and delete anything in the folder they have access to (This is turned on by default unless you uncheck it).

Block download prevents people from downloading the file or folders they have access to. Unchecking this box means that people can download the files onto their devices.

Set expiration date After the date you set, the link won't work anymore, and you will need to create a new link for users requiring access to your file or folder.

Set password When a user clicks the link, they will be prompted to enter a password before they can access the file.

Open in review mode only limits people to leaving comments and making suggestions on the file.

Once you have set all your link settings and permissions, select Apply.
